The Alexandrian School is the Crossroads of Faith & Thought.
We are a distillery of thought. We want to take in ideas, refine them into something good, and then share the best with the world. For centuries, Alexandria was the center of the world; a place where cultures, languages, and ideas collided. The Mouseion, the Great Library, housed the greatest collection of written knowledge ever compiled. The Pharos, the Lighthouse, stood as a Wonder of the World and guiding light. The School of Alexandria was the collective knowledge, study, and exchange of ideas on every subject: mathematics, geometry, philosophy, politics, faith, science, music, the arts, and more.
Whether Christian, Jewish, Islamic, secular, or pagan, Alexandria welcomed ideas and people in a continuous search for truth and growth. That exchange of ideas is what is meant by "School." This has always been what we do here.
Strong friendships have been born here, religious conversion made possible, and new political horizons opened. The fresh perspectives offered by people that have joined us--and the server's collective experience--have made this a place where lives have legitimately been changed for the better. Numerous members, past and present, have reported some positive change, whether someone has found themselves becoming de-radicalized, they have found a new respect for their faith, they have forged connections with people that they had been lacking before, or found a path in life they did not realize they had. Our favorite feedback over the years is something we have heard from multiple people who have left us, only to come back. "I honestly tried leaving, but I couldn't find anything better."
